Rather peaceful fish which becomes only slightly aggressive
during the mating season. A territory is then arranged and
in the floor is turned up. It is wise to anchor plants
firmly. The fish can be kept the bests as a couple. The
aquarium should be set up with firm plants, and
driftwood. Also use some flat stones. It is an easy omnivorous fish without certain preferences. They feed on large water insectlarvae. They also accept dry and frozen food. The breeding is rather easy. A very large number of eggs are laid on a fixed substrate ( e.g. a flat stone). Both parents care for their eggs en young until they are swimming free for about a week. You can feed the fry with newly-hatched brine shrimp. |
