Rather peaceful fish. Only males are rather aggressive
to each other. The aquarium should be planted very
well and decorated with some driftwood. A dark
substrate brings out the colours of the fish. You
should keep them in a special aquarium for killies, but you
can keep them together with other peaceful fishes that are
not too big. You should give them small live food. After habituation you can give them dry food as well. Breeding is not easy. One male and two females can spawn daily a few eggs in a spawning mop. The eggs should be removed to a breeding scale with some remedy against fungus. After 2-3 weeks the eggs hatch. You can raise the young fishes with baby brine shrimp. |
