Calm, sometimes shy fish that should be kept with other calm
fishes. The aquarium should be planted on the sides
and background, but not too dense. In the middle you
should leave a large open area for swimming.
You should feed them with live food. They dislike dry food. Breeding is not easy. You need a good matching couple. At higher temperatures up to 200 eggs are laid and fertilized. After spawning the parents should be removed. After 30 hours the eggs hatch and after 5 days the young fishes are swimming free. You should clean the breeding aquarium very carefully, because the young fishes are very sensitive for pollution and they die. |
