You should keep this predatory fish together with other
larger fishes, because smaller fish are eaten. The
aquarium should be set up with plants that can live in very
hard water such as Giant Vallisneria, and driftwood and
roots that make hiding places. A strong filter is
necessary. You should add some salt to the water. (1
spoon at 10 liters of water) You should give them large live food such as fish. Breeding is very easy in a large aquarium. They are viviparous and up to 100 young fishes are born regularly. Because the parents think it is food you should remove the young immediately. When they are born they are already 2-3 cm (1") large. You can raise them with fine crushed dry food. They grow quickly. |
