Up to species of equal size they are rather peaceful.
They are also suited for the community aquarium with other
peaceful fishes. The aquarium should be planted
densely. A dark substrate and a dimmed light by using
floating plants are appreciated very much. A good
filter for clear water is necessary.
You should give them live food. Frozen and dry food are accepted as well. Breeding is not difficult. They are viviparous. Every 8-9 weeks about 10 young fishes are born. They are already 1,5 cm (0,6") large and you can feed them fine crushed dry food. It is necessary to plant the aquarium very dense, because the parents eat their young. |
