|
Peaceful fish that you can keep in a community aquarium
together with other peaceful fishes. The aquarium
should be planted densely. A dark substrate brings out the
colours of the fish. He is omnivorous. You should give them a great variety of live, frozen and dry food. Breeding is easy. A large bubblenest is made. 500 - 600 eggs are laid and fertilized in the nest. After spawning the female should be removed. The water height must be less then 20 cm (7.5"). After 2 days the first larvae leave the nest. At that time the male should be removed as well. When they are swimming free you can feed the young fishes with very fine infusoria and a few days later with Artemia-nauplii and fine crushed dry food. |
