Corydoras punctatus

Explanation of the symbols

Family : Callichthyidae
Origin : Venezuela, Guyana, Amazon river
Length : 6 cm - 2.4"
Min. length aquarium : 60 cm - 25"
English names : Spotted Cory, Spotfin corydoras
You should keep this peaceful bottomdweller in a school.  The aquarium should be planted densely on the sides and background because they need hiding places.  A part of the bottom of the aquarium should be free and should be sandy because they like to search after food in it and their tender barbels are easily damaged.  They are very well suited for the community aquarium.

They are omnivorous but they prefer live food.  Dry food is accepted as well.

Breeding is not easy.  A large changing of the water should be conducive to spawning.  Not much is known about this.
