Peaceful schooling fish that you can keep in any community
aquarium without plants. The only plant that can be
used is javafern. All other plants are eaten.
You can set up the aquarium with stones, driftwood and roots.
They need a lot of free swimming space. Occasionally
they may nip at long, flowing fins of other fishes when they
are not fed well. This fish is omnivorous but he prefers soft plants. Breeding is easy. Up to 600 eggs are laid and fertilized in a perlon spawning mop. After spawning this mop should be removed to a separate tank. When the young fishes are swimming free you can raise them with baby brine shrimp. |
