Peaceful schooling fish that can be kept in any community aquarium.  The aquarium should be planted, but not too densely and the aquarium should stand on a sunny spot.  A regular changing of the water is necessary.

The are omnivorous.  You can give them a great variety of live, frozen and dry food.

Breeding is not easy.  The water should be soft (< 4 Gh) and acid (Ph 6).  The eggs hatch after 24 hours and 6 days later the young fishes are swimming free.  They only eat the smallest infusoria in the beginning and a week later you can give them baby brine shrimp.  From that moment there are only little problems.  A regular changing of the water is important.
