It is not so easy to take care for this peaceful schooling
fish. You need a peat filter and the light should be
dimmed. A dark substrate is appreciated. You can
keep them together with other peaceful fishes. You should give them a great variety of live, frozen and dry food. Breeding is not difficult in soft and acid water. (Gh < 4, Ph 6). The breeding aquarium should be set up with fine leaved plants. You should feed the parents very well with black mosquito larvae. After spawning the parents should be removed. The eggs hatch after 36 hours. When the young fishes are swimming free you can raise them with fine infusoria and a week later with Artemia-nauplii. |
