Peaceful schooling fish for the upper water layers that you
can keep together with other peaceful fishes. The
aquarium should be planted densely on the sides and
background. In the middle you should leave a lot of
free swimming space. You should cover the aquarium
very well because they are good jumpers. You should feed them with small live food like fruit flies and mayflies and their larvae. There are some reports about breeding in the aquarium. You should set up a breeding aquarium with a spawning grid. In the early morning the eggs are laid and fertilized. After spawning the parents should be removed. The eggs hatch after 36 hours and two days later they become free swimming. You can raise them with infusoria or Liquifry and two weeks later with baby brine shrimp. |
