Peaceful schooling fish that needs a lot of free swimming
space. You can keep them in a special aquarium
together with other rainbowfishes. You can keep them
in a community aquarium as well. The aquarium should
be planted, but not too dense. The substrate should be
sandy. A regular changing of the water is appreciated. You should give them small live food. Dry food is accepted as well. Breeding is not easy. The eggs are laid and fertilized between fine leaved plants such as javamoss. After a few days the moss with the eggs should be removed to a separate aquarium. After a few days the eggs hatch. The young fishes are very small and the first days they eat fine plankton and diatoms. After a while they accept baby brine shrimp.
