Length of the vis : 6 cm - 2,4"
Min.length aquarium : 60 cm - 25"
English name : Flagfish
Sometimes very intolerant fish, especially the males during breeding time.  The aquarium should be densely planted on the sides and background. In the middle there should be open swimming areas. The substrate should be dark to bring out the colours of this fish.   The aquarium should receive sunlight by which there is some algae growth. Please mind the temperature of the water.  When the temperature is to high the fish starves quickly.

They are omnivorous, but above all they prefer algae.

Breeding is easy. At a temperature of 23-25° up to 70 eggs are laid during several days between the plants.  The male guards the eggs.  After spawning the female should be removed.  When the young fishes are swimming free you can feed them with fine infusoria.
