In a smaller aquarium this fish is rather aggressive to
species of their own kind and to other species. The
aquarium should be decorated on the sides and background
with a lot of stones and rocks till the watersurface that
form caves and crevices. Some plants can be used as
well. In the middle you should leave enough free
swimming space. They are omnivorous. You should give them a great variety of live, frozen and dry food. Breeding is very easy. After the eggs are laid, the female takes the eggs in her mouth immediately. They are fertilized by the male using the dummy egg method. It is wise to remove the female to a separate aquarium so she can raise her children in peace. |
