Peaceful, active schooling fish that needs a lot of free
swimming space. You better keep them together with
other rainbow fishes. The aquarium should be well planted
on the sides and background. The substrate should be
dark and the light dimmed to bring out the colours of the
fish. A regular changing of the water is necessary.
You should feed them small live food. Frozen and dry food are accepted as well. Breeding is easy. When you change the water regularly the eggs are laid and fertilized daily in a spawning mop. After 6 days the parents should be removed. When the young fishes are swimming free you can raise them with very fine infusoria and a few days later with Artemia-nauplii. They like small algae as well.
