Peaceful, shy fish that you should keep as a pair. A
territory is made. The aquarium should be planted
densely and set up with driftwood and roots because they
need hiding places. Use some flat stones as well
because they use them for spawning. You should give them live food, and a part of the food should be vegetable. Dry food is accepted as well. Breeding is not easy. They need the right waterquality. 200-500 eggs are laid and fertilized on a flat stone or a large leave of a plant. After hatching the parents bring the fry to a breeding pit. They both care for the fry. |
