Family : Cyprinidae
Origin : Burma
Length : 3 cm - 1.2"
Min. length aquarium : 50 cm - 20"
English name : Dwarf red rasbora
Very peaceful, lively schooling fish, that sometimes is rather shy.  The aquarium should be planted densely on the sides and background, so they can hide between them.  In the middle you should leave enough free swimming space.  The water should be rather hard, because otherwise their colours turn pale.  You can keep them together with other small and peaceful fishes.

You should give them small live food.  Dry food is accepted as well.

Breeding is rather easy.  The eggs are laid and fertilized between fine leaved plants.  After spawning you should remove the parents.  When the young fishes are swimming free you can feed them with very small infusoria.
