Peaceful bottom dweller that is only active during the night.  The aquarium should be set up with very well anchored plants because they like to burrow in the substrate.  The substrate should be sandy.  You should use rocks and roots to create a lot of hiding places.  A strong filter is necessary because during burrowing the substrate they threw up a lot of dirt.  The light should be dimmed.

They are omnivorous.  You should give them a great variety of live, frozen and dry food.  They need some vegetable food as well.

About breeding in the aquarium little is known.  Only a few accidental results are reported.
