Family : Cichlidae
Origin : Haiti
Length : 25 cm - 10"
Min. length aquarium : 200 cm - 80"
English names : Black Nasty, Haitian cichlid, Odo

This large fish should be kept as a couple.  The aquarium should be set up with stones and driftwood because they need hiding places.  For further decoration you can use some large, hard and well anchored plants.

They are omnivorous, but they prefer small live food and vegetable food like algae and soft plants.

About breeding in the aquarium not much is known.  150-200 eggs are laid and fertilized on a flat stone.  The female cares for the fry.  The young fishes are very sensible for indigestion.
