Peaceful schooling fish. It is recommended to keep
them in an aquarium with other African fishes. A lot
of light and a few plants bring out the colours of the fish.
You should use a sandy substrate and a peat filter.
You should give them small live food. After a while they accept frozen food as well. Breeding is not difficult. They are very productive. In the morning sun the eggs are laid and fertilized between plants and stones. After 30 hours the eggs hatch. 5 days later the young fishes are swimming free. You can raise them with fine infusoria and a few days later with Artemia-nauplii. |
