Length : 3 cm - 1.2"
Min. length aquarium : 50 cm - 20"
Small, peaceful schooling fish that is rather shy.  You should keep them in a special, small aquarium together with some small catfishes.  You should plant the aquarium densely on the sides and background.  A dark substrate is appreciated.

You should give them small live food.  Frozen and dry food are accepted as well.

Breeding is easy.  When the animals are well fed with a variety of food they spawn very quick in a small aquarium with water conditions of 5 Dh en 6 Ph.  It is wise to use a spawning grid because they eat their own eggs.  After spawning the parents should be removed.  Depending on the temperature the eggs hatch after 24-36 hours.  When the young fishes are swimming free you can raise them with very small infusoria such as paramecia and rotifers.
