Calm, peaceful fish that can be kept together with other
peaceful cichlids from lake Malawi. Only during
breeding times he makes a territory. The aquarium
should be decorated with a lot of rocks and stones that form
caves and crevices. Some plants on the sides can be
used for decoration as well. The aquarium should be
sandy because the animals search for food in it. You should give them live food. Dry food is accepted as well. Breeding is rather easy. Up to 50 eggs are laid. The female takes the eggs in her mouth. They are fertilized by the male using the dummy egg method. After 3 weeks the young fishes leave the mouth of the mother. You can raise them with baby brine shrimp. |
