Peaceful schooling fish for the community aquarium.
When you don't keep them in a school they get shy and they
hide between the plants. The aquarium should be
planted densely and you should use some floating plants to
provide protection from above. It is a very suitable
beginner fish. You should give them small live food. Dry food is accepted as well. Breeding is easy. The temperature should be raised above 22°C (72°F). The eggs are laid and fertilized between fine leaved plants or a spawning mop. After spawning the parents should be removed. When the young fishes are swimming free you can raise them with Artemia-nauplii. |
