English names : Gertrude's Blue-Eye, Spotted Blue-eye
Very peaceful schooling fish that you can keep in a special aquarium for small rainbowfishes. The aquarium should be planted densely on the sides and background.  In the middle you should leave enough free swimming space.

You should give them small live food.  Dry food is accepted as well.

Breeding is easy.  Daily eggs are laid and fertilized between fine leaved plants such as javamoss.  After 10 days the eggs hatch.  It is also possible to preserve the eggs outside the aquarium in wet moss or peat for about 4 weeks.  The young fishes are very small and can be raised with very fine infusoria and dustfood such as paramecia and rotifers.
