During breeding times males are rather aggressive to each
other and a territory is made. It is wise to keep one
male together with several females. The aquarium
should be set op with a sandy substrate and some flat
stones. The male digs a hole under the stones.
Strong running water is appreciated. You should give them small live food. Breeding is rather easy. 10-50 eggs are laid and fertilized in a cave. The male cares for the eggs very intensive. After 2 weeks the eggs hatch and 2 days later the young fishes are swimming free, You can raise them with baby brine shrimp. |
