The aquarium should be planted densely on the sides and

free swimming space. You should use some floating
plants to dim the light. The fish is very sensitive
for nitrate, so you should change the water frequently.
You should give them small live food. Dry food is accepted as well. Breeding is easy. The aquarium should be planted densely. Up to 1000 eggs are laid and fertilized during the night. After spawning the parents should be removed and a large part of the water should be changed. After 20 - 24 hours the eggs hatch. When the young fishes are swimming free you can raise them with Artemia-nauplii. |
