Relatively peaceful fish to other species. You should keep them as a couple. The tank
should be set up with
driftwood, stones and plants because the fish need some
hiding places. A regular changing of the water and a
strong filter is necessary. You should give the fish a great variety of live and frozen food. They don't like dry food. Breeding is very easy. About 500 eggs are laid on a stone. Both parents take care of the fry for a long time. After 2 days they hatch and are moved to a ditch in the sand. Two days later the young fish are swimming free. You can feed them with newly-hatched brine shrimp. |
