English name : Highfin Dwarf Cichlid
Peaceful dwarfcichlid that can be kept together with other small and peaceful fishes in the upper water layers.  This dwarfcichlid can be kept in a community aquarium together with other small peaceful fishes, but you can better keep them in an aquarium that is set up especially for dwarfcichlids. A male forms a harem and as a result, should be kept in a ration of one male to every three or four females. The male defends a large territory in which several females may guard their own brood. The aquarium should be set up with stones, driftwood and roots, and on the sides and background densely planted, because they need hiding places.  The substrate should be dark to bring out the colours of this fish.

The fish is omnivorous, so you should give them a great variety of all kind of food.  Dry food is not accepted.

Breeding is not difficult.  The male mates with several females.  The female takes care of the young fishes very intensive and the male defends the large territory.  You can feed the young with baby brine shrimp.
