English name : Twospot Astyanax
Active and peaceful schooling fish for a larger community aquarium.  When he gets older he likes to eat soft plants, so it is not recommendable to use them.  The aquarium should be planted with hard plants on the sides and background. For more decoration you can use roots and driftwood.  In the middle you should leave a lot of free swimming space.  You need a strong filter.

He is omnivorous and he eats a lot.  At older age a great part of the food should be vegetable.   Frozen and dry food is accepted as well.

Breeding is in a large aquarium easy.  A great number of eggs are laid between fine leaved plants.  After spawning you should remove the parents.  After 18 hours the eggs hatch and another 18 hours later the young fishes are swimming free.  You can raise them with baby brine shrimp.
