Peaceful schooling fish suitable for a smaller community aquarium together with other small barbs.  He should be kept with at least 10-12 pieces.  The aquarium should be set up with a dark substrate , some cryptos, roots and driftwood.  There should be a lot of free swimming space.  He is sensible for high temperatures.

You should give them small live food.  Algae and dry food is accepted as well.  The food may not be too big.

Breeding is easy.  It is wise to use only the most beautiful animals for breeding.  Up to 100 eggs are laid under the leave of a plant.  After spawning the parents should be removed.  After 24 hours the eggs hatch.  When the young fishes are swimming free you can raise them with very small infusoria and a few days later with baby brine shrimp.
