Peaceful schooling fish that can be kept in a community
aquarium at temperatures that are not too high. It is
wise to keep them a few months at a temperature of 16°C
(61°F). The aquarium should be densely planted on the
sides and background. The like a dark substrate.
They are omnivorous. You should give them a great variety of live, frozen and dry food. Breeding is easy. You should put one female and several males together in a breeding tank with marbles and a spawning grid because they eat their own eggs. After spawning the parents should be removed. After 30 hours the eggs hatch. When the young fishes are swimming free you can raise them with baby brine shrimp and fine crushed dry food. |
