| Males of this species are rather aggressive to each other.
When you want to keep more then one male, the aquarium
should be rather large with a lot of hiding places.
Because they are rather shy the aquarium should be planted
densely.  For more decorations that make hiding places
you can use some driftwood end roots.  A soft substrate
of peat dust or beech leaves where they can hide is
appreciated. You should give them small live food such as Artemia or small waterflees. Frozen food is accepted as well. Breeding is difficult. Up to 80 eggs are laid and fertilized in a bubblenest. After 36-48 hours the eggs hatch and another 2 days later the young fishes are swimming free. The first few days you can feed them with small infusoria and after that with baby brine shrimp. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
