They are omnivorous.  You should give them a great variety of live, frozen and dry food.

Breeding is very easy.  The breeding tank should be set up with a layer of marbles.  A few females and some males should be put together in the aquarium in the evening.  In the early morning they lay a lot of eggs (up to 400 eggs each female)  After spawning the parents should be removed.  After 4 days the eggs hatch.  When the young fishes are swimming free you can raise them with infusoria, Liquifry and a few days later with fine crushed dry food.
