You can keep this fish very well together with other small
cichlids from Lake Tanganyika such as Julidochromus or
Lamprologus. The aquarium should be set up with stones and
rocks to create crevices and caves because they need hiding
places. Plants can be used for decoration as well. A
territory is made. You should give them small live food. It is possible that they accept dry food after a while. Breeding is not easy, especially with fishes that are not born in the aquarium. Up to 120 eggs are laid and fertilized in a cave. After 2-4 days the eggs hatch and after another 8-10 days the young fishes are swimming free. They stay a very long time in the territory of the parents where they are protected. You can raise them with baby brine shrimp. |
