Peaceful bottomfish that should be kept together with other
peaceful fishes. The aquarium should be planted
densely on the sides and background. A part of the
bottom should be open with fine sand because they like to
search after food in it and their tender barbels are easily
damaged. You should feed them small live food. Dry food is accepted as well. Breeding is easy. A large changing of the water combined with lower temperatures is a good method to make them spawn. Up to 100 eggs are laid and fertilized. When the young fishes are swimming free you can raise them with very fine infusoria and some days later with Artemia-nauplii. |
