Peaceful schooling fish for every community aquarium and you
can keep them with almost every other small fishes.
This is a very good beginner's fish. The aquarium
should be well planted with some high plants. Use some
floating plants as well to provide areas of shade. The
substrate should be dark to bring out the colours of this
fish. They are omnivorous. You should give them a great variety of live, frozen and dry food. Breeding is fairly easy. They are very productive and scatter their eggs between the plants. After spawning the parents should be removed because they eat their own eggs. After a day the eggs hatch. When they are swimming free you can feed them with infusoria, egg yolk and fine crushed dry food. |
