Peaceful schooling fish that needs a lot of free swimming
space in the middle. The sides and background should
be planted densely. A dark substrate and a dimmed
light bring out the colours of the fish. A peat filter
and a regular changing of the water is necessary. They
can live in harder water as well, but then they don't show
their most beautiful colours.
You should give them small live food. Dry food is accepted as well. Breeding is not difficult. They scatter the eggs between fine leaved plants. After spawning the parents should be removed. After 5 days the young fishes are swimming free and you can start feeding with infusoria and a few days later with Artemia-nauplii and fine crushed dry food. |
