This peaceful fish likes to swim and you can keep him in a
small school in the community aquarium. The aquarium
should be planted on the sides and background. In the
middle you should leave a lot of free swimming space.
A dark substrate and a dimmed light by using floating plants
bring out the colours of the fish. You should give them live food. Frozen and dry food are accepted as well. Breeding is not difficult. For spawning substrate you should use a spawning mop. When the animals are well fed the eggs are laid en fertilized between the mop. After spawning the parents should be removed. After 2-3 days the eggs hatch. When the young fishes are swimming free you can feed them with paramecia and rotifers and later with baby brine shrimp. |
