Peaceful, lively fish for the upper waterlayers. You
should keep them in a group in a community aquarium.
The aquarium should be planted densely with broad leaved
plants to provide hiding places. Those plants are used to
spawn as well. At some places in the upper waterlayers
should be enough free swimming space.
You should give them live food such as insects that float on the water surface. Frozen and dry food are accepted as well. There are some breeding reports. You should transfer a couple in a breeding aquarium. After spawning the female should be removed. The male cares for the fry. When the eggs hatch the male should be removed as well. When the young fishes are swimming free you can raise them with infusoria and a few days later with fine crushed dry food. |
