You should keep this fish in an aquarium that is large
enough. When the aquarium is too small they can be
very aggressive. You should keep one male together
with several females to divide the aggression. The
aquarium should be set up with rocks and stones that form
caves and crevices. The rocks should be firmly anchored. A
sandy substrate is appreciated. They are omnivorous but they prefer powerful live food. Breeding is easy. The male digs a crater in the substrate and 50-60 eggs are laid and fertilized in the crater. Immediately after that the female takes the eggs in her mouth. 3-4 weeks later the young fishes leave the mouth of the mother. You can raise them with baby brine shrimp.
